Is BIXBI Dry Food baked or extruded? What’s the difference?

Learn about how BIXBI Dry Food is cooked.

Most baked and extruded kibbles are cooked at similar temperatures. The difference lies in how it’s formed. Extruded kibble is cooked and formed in the extruder and dried in the dryer. Baked kibble is formed by a die, and cooked and dried in an oven. BIXBI's kibble is cooked in an extruder.

Our kibble is formed and cooked in the extruder. We include so much fresh meat, poultry, or fish that we do not have to add any water. The kibble is cooked for about 30 minutes at a variety of temperatures, mainly 280F.

We also are very diligent about testing both our raw ingredients and our finished kibble to make sure that it is not only healthy, but safe to feed your pet!
